- Overview
The principle of ultraviolet fluorescence measurement is adopted. After the sample is introduced into the high-temperature cracking furnace, the sample undergoes a cracking and oxidation reaction. At a high temperature of about 1000°C, the sample is completely gasified and undergoes oxidative cracking, and the sulfide in it is quantitatively converted into sulfur dioxide. The reaction gas is carried by the carrier gas, passes through the membrane dryer to remove its moisture, and enters the reaction chamber.
Sulfur dioxide is exposed to ultraviolet light of specific wavelengths, and the absorption of this ray causes some electrons to divert to high-energy orbits. Once the electrons return to their original orbits, the excess energy is released in the form of light and is detected and received by a photomultiplier tube at a specific wavelength. The emitted fluorescence is completely specific to sulfur and is proportional to the sulfur content in the original sample.
After amplification by a microcurrent amplifier and computer data processing, it can be converted into an electrical signal proportional to the light intensity. By measuring its size, the sulfur content of the corresponding sample can be calculated.
